Helens interest in singing came at an early age, when she performed with her sister at homes for the elderly from the age of 4 years! At the age of 13 she played the part of NANCY in ''OLIVER'' in a school production, it was then that her parents realised she had a special talent.
Helen’s professional career started at the age of 15, when she was discovered by Tommy Scott from CHAPPELS LONDON STUDIOS. She was later signed by Dorothy Solomon, (who managed LENA ZAVARONI and THE BACHELORS). She recorded several songs for CHAPPELLS and CBS STUDIOS
Helen’s first live work aged just 16 was with MOR Band ‘Southern City’ as lead singer, performing at top class functions in and around London.
Aged 21 she sang LIVE on BBC’s ‘A SONG FOR EUROPE’ and released 2 singles.
Helen juggled her singing career with a successful career as a professional Photographic model between the age of 20-26, and was featured many times in the National press and magazines and calendars.
She has also appeared on ‘the TIME THE PLACE’, ‘LOVEJOY‘, ‘THE CHIEF’ ‘EASTENDERS’ , and a MICHAEL CAINE film 'THE HOLCROFT COVENENT'.
For 4 years she performed 4 nights a week at various MECCA venues including Hammersmiths ‘LE PALAIS’ London.
She then went on to perform as a cabaret artiste singer at such venues as LAKESIDE COUNTRY CLUB Surrey, ‘THE CIRCUS TAVERN’ Purfleet and BUTLINS HOLIDAY PARKS, at Skegness and Bognor Regis.
She then joined one of the most successful function bands in the Country ‘NIGHT MUSIC’. She stayed with them for 6 years. She performed at such places as THE WARDORF HOTEL, HYDE PARK HOTEL, THE LONDON HILTON, THE DORCHESTER, CLARRIDGES, THE LANGHAM HILTON, and THE ROYAL LANCASTER HOTEL. She also performed for some of the biggest names in show business at ‘THE GRAND ORDER OF THE WATER RATS’ annual ball at the GROVENOR HOTEL. ’Night music’ were also booked on a regular basis for the ENGLAND RUGBY TEAMs functions. Locally performed many gigs at STOCKBROOK MANOR Billericay.
Helen then went on the join ‘THE DENNY WISE BAND’ a ‘pro’ 14 piece outfit renowned for BIG WEST END gigs, WEDDINGS, as well as large Jewish functions.
In 1999 Helen Managed and performed in a MOTOWN TRIBUTE BAND called ''Get ready'' performing reqularly at the Circus Tavern Purfleet.
In 2002 she taught singing in music stores in Basildon, Billericay and South Woodham Ferrers.
In 2003 she established her own successful business, “Voice Management”, coaching female vocalists in the local area.
Helen’s recording work includes CHRYSALIS RECORDS, R.C.A. RECORDS, SOLID STATE STUDIOS, CBS STUDIOS and CHAPPELLS LONDON STUDIOS, as well as lesser known studios in London and the South East, providing Lead vocals, demos, Backing vocals, Harmonies, Acappellas, and Jingles for Advertisements and voice overs. Advertisements include DEBEHNAMS, VLADIVIA VODKA, ANN SUMMERS, MECCA BOOKMAKERS, BASS BEERS and Jingles for RADIO ONE and local radio stations.
Helen has the most versatile of voices, and can adapt to any style. She has gained a wealth of experience and great respect through her years as a professional artiste, and now as a respected vocal coach. She still sings professionally doing gigs in Kent and Essex.
